This project began with a standard
1995 Coachmen Santara. The owners, Dr. Dana Myatt and Mark Myatt RN, wanted
us to restripe their motorhome with some custom colors of their choosing.
The initial plan was to simply restripe the coach featuring a very similar
to factory straight stripe layout and graphic reproduction. To make the
project more interesting, they also wanted to add some design and text
work to promote their wellness and holistic health consulting as well
as their online Alternative Medicine Pharmacy. And still more: the Myatts
travel with a Saturn station wagon in tow, their “Toad” and
that vehicle also needed some decal work so that it matched the RV towing
it. So this project was really 3 projects in 1; a standard restripe, a
matching package, and a commercial vehicle graphic project. Fun ! |

We began the project like most restripes
and used our 3M Large Area Stripe Removal “wheels” to buff
of the original factory striping, graphics, and logos. After pressure
washing the coach and prepping the work surface with a solvent, the coach
was essentially naked except for the “shadows” left behind
indicating where the original layout had been. The “shadows”
are what generally guides a restripe project as 98% of all clients wish
to have the shadows covered up. |
The final look of the coach came out spectacular.Their
color choice was contemporary and pleasing on the eye, and by eliminating
a number of the individual stripes and going with a smaller number of
larger stripes the appearance of the coach was simplified and beautified.
Another benefit of their pleasing color choice is the coach, although
great looking, became a non-distracting background to the wellness message
and logo. Dr. Myatt’s Wellness Club features a brightly colored
apple as its logo, reinforcing a natural approach to healthy living. The
ripe apple serves as a great visual focal point directing the viewer’s
eye to the slogan and contact info. |
